Withdrawal after a great start at Rally Bohemia

Rally Bohemia is the highlight of the rally season in the Czech Republic. This competition has traditionally extremely difficult tracks and a great atmosphere created by crowds of spectators; it is the competition center in the city of Škoda cars and the Škoda Motorsport factory team. In addition, it’s in the region of our advertising partners and the hometowns of the majority of our team members and Rexteam workshops. We are personally invested in participating in this race. I would like to thank the team, sponsors and my family for the great amount of work and support in preparing for Rally Bohemia.

We and Peter Novak didn’t want to waste time; we managed to write a great schedule, and we had a great deal of dedication as well as humility. Everything was going great, the car worked sensationally, we were driving as hard as we could and the results were not bad (once we beat Raimund Baumschlager, once we were 1 s behind Mira Jakeš and once 2 s). An engine failure occured on a crossing after speed test 6 that eliminated us from the race. It happened 1 kilometer away from our workshop. We’ll see what happens next. At the moment we are disappointed to withdraw from a beautifully started race. The support from friends was great motivation, especially in Koberovy, where we traditionally had to go see Emil. That was a great experience, as well as visiting friends, sponsors and collaborating companies in the next service. We were also visited by John Haugland there.
