Dramatic and victorious Dobšiná

The winner’s trophy in the absolute rating of MSR PAV was awarded to Věroslav Cvrček Jr. with the Škoda Fabia RS 2000. He took the win in close races with his competitors with a winning time in his second race, increasing his lead in the championship.

Věroslav Cvrček Jr.: “Races in Dobšiná are tough due to their fast track, the weather and also the fact that racers from the European Championship enter the Slovak Championship. This unnecessarily interferes with scoring, even though they only participate in a single race. During training we adjusted the chassis and I got acquainted with the track, because I knew that on Sunday I would have to fight hard. This turned out to be true, unlike the adverse weather forecast. In the second race I finished second by 1.1s. I knew I had a time reserve and I still believed I could win. I was more aggressive in the second race, perhaps too much at times. I improved my time. Igor Drotár, on the other hand, slowed down due to some minor mistakes. This proves that we were both goint at full speed, because Igor rarely makes mistakes. We managed to win by less than half a second in the sum of two 7-km rides. The effort in the second ride was truly great; in addition to skidding and a few crisis points, I hit the tires on the edge of the road once and once my front tire scraped the traffic barrier. It was a ride I will never forget. Seventh place in the European Championship and an average speed of 153 km/h proves our pace. I would like to thank the L Racing team and Rexteam; their support during the weekend and beyond was great. I would like to dedicate this win to my dad, who supported me in Dobšiná and not only there. It was also his birthday on Friday – the evening before the race.”
